Here's our guide on how to have a great New Year's Eve (with 2 children and a dog).
We started our New Year's Eve with some froot loops (the kids; not me) and regular cereal. Jason borrowed a book from his friend at work (a new one in the series he likes) and he chilled on the couch reading for awhile. Bebe and Mamu went outside and played in the backyard with Duncan for a long time! During that time I cleaned Mamu's room (complete with vacuuming), started a load of laundry, cleaned out the fridge, washed a load of dishes, took out the trash, and I'm sure did something else.
Since it was a beautiful day (70 degrees in December! Love me some Texas!), we decided to go on a bike ride to the 'secret' park. Duncan did a great job riding along beside me and Mamu took his new red football to play with at the park. Bebe worked a lot on riding fast! We had a good time at the park and played Mamu's version of football.
After our bike ride, we had some lunch at the house and our last naps of 2011. Bebe and Mamu played on the computer for awhile while I took some of the Christmas things down. Then we went to Red Robin (thanks to my students for my gift cards!) for a yummy dinner. Then we went to Old Navy (or Old Matey as Mamu calls it) and snagged some good deals for the kids.
Then back home for dessert for me and Bebe (ice cream!) and put the kids to bed. Now we're watching The Big Bang Theory marathon and probably head to bed before midnight.
