Shopping & a Show

 Here's our week recap:
On Monday:
We got the invitations for Mamu's birthday party prepared and delivered to his school.  We also had tap and ballet (our usual Monday night dance class).
Mamu's birthday invitations
On Tuesday:
Mamu had T-ball practice and Bebe had jazz.  Our Tuesdays are quite busy now!  It was super windy (gusts to 40 mph) at t-ball practice and it was amazing none of the kids blew away!  I looked a tad bit windblown afterwards and boy was I a fashion statement!

On Wednesday:
We got caught up on our chores around the house and homework done.  Mamu had homework this week!  He had the "Og's Reading Bag" where he got to bring a book from home and draw what he thought about the book.  He picked "The Legend of Lil' Red" (it's about the current Nebraska mascot).  It was quite cute.

On Thursday:
Mamu has been having a hard time doing things the first time he's been asked (as an almost four year old, he definitely needs to work on this) so I set up a sticker chart for him.  He gets 5 stickers for doing things the first time he's asked and gets a sticker.  When he gets 5, he gets to play on the computer, tablet ("Tabby") or my phone.  It works fabulously!  We also had Open House at school, so we were out later than normal.

A miracle!

On Friday:
We got home from school and walked Duncan.  He'd been cooped up for 2 days between the drizzle and Open House, so he was ready to get out and walk!  Mamu walked with me, while Bebe scootered ahead.   Mamu was pretending a lot; at one point we were stuck in jail and we had to break out.  Another time, we were hikers with sticks, and then he told me all about school and show and tell.  He's also informed me that he will marry his favorite teacher.

On Saturday:
T-Ball was cancelled due to rain. We got there and it started to pour.  Mamu was so upset!  He was convinced he could play in the rain.  Luckily Coach Scott is super awesome and Mamu was ok with it when Coach Scott told him we would have to do it another day.  MG and Grandaddy wanted to come to practice, but since it rained out, they missed out.  Luckily, we've got a lot more to come!  We had lunch at Red Robin with them.  Then us girls went to Buildabear and Beebsie built a Miss. Piggy puppet/bear/stuffed animal thing.  She also spent her chore money on an outfit and shoes which MG helped make up the difference.  We also went to few other stores and I scored some fabulous deals at Gymboree for Bebe.  They didn't have much for Mamu though.  I spend $30 for six items!

All of the Gymboree items I got for Bebe.
On Saturday night, MG and Grandaddy went to go see MTD's current show (which Jason was a producer for; so he was there as well as Auntie).  Mamu and Beebsie put on a bulidabear/stuffed animal fashion show for me.  Also, Bebe put on a show to The Muppets CD for me.  At some point, she was performing to a song with Mamu in the background moving his small chair around.  It was quite comical; she was just singing away and Mamu's moving his chair.   Back and forth.  Back and forth.  He apparently hasn't learned that he either needs to a)wear black when he's pretending to be stage crew b) do it during scene changes or c) his sister can't be distracted when she's performing.  We probably could have things falling down around her and the show will go on!
Puppy (dressed as a baseball player) was one of Mamu's participants.

I was the stage manager, spot light operator, and conductor of the CD.
I not only could hold the spotlight (flashlight), I could change the CD to the right number at the right time.
I know.  You're super jealous of my talents
and of my Saturday night entertainmet.

Here's our performer!  That's my old twirler outfit with her light up dress shoes.
Don't forget the microphone and Duncan chewing his bone right on stage.

So there you've got it.  Our week in a short little post.  Now we're on Spring Break!  We're gonna have some great adventures!

Keeping up with us...

Well, we're here; blogging just hasn't been on the forefront of my mind lately.  :)  I'm hoping that I get more inspired more often.  Here's some news on our front:
--I have finally joined the smartphone users of the world - and I'm sportin' a new droid around.
--We've started t-ball with Mamu and he loves it!  He loves his Coach Scott and thinks he is the greatest guy ever.
--Jason's involved in 2 shows. 'Nuff said.
--I've been working on taking 10,000 steps a day; I average about 8,000 a day unless I work out and walk Duncan.
--Bebe is working hard on her dances (ballet, jazz, and tap) for recital.
--Bebe tried out for our talent show at school and was not selected. I am glad that she handled it with dignity and poise.  She cried for a bit, but then was over it and moved on.  I'm very proud of her for that.
--Mamu will do most anything for computer time.  It's an amazing and powerful tool that I weld with the respect it deserves... and use as much as I can!
--We've been having a great bout of weather - not too warm and not too cool.  So the kids have been playing in the backyard a ton!  Their favorite game is to play "Jake and the Neverland Pirates". They also make their own band and sing from Jake.
--I'm probably annoying everyone on facebook with my new ability to upload pictures instantly from my phone.  Enh.  Enjoy or ignore.
--2 more days until Spring Break!
--I'm still singing random songs to get Mamu to do things; tonight it was to the 'move it, move it' song (google if you need) only it was "nekkie, nekkie" to get him to get undressed for his shower.  I really don't know why I'm not more known for my singing...
Here's some pictures from the last few days:

Our sweet friends were over this past weekend and Mamu got a special bedtime story.

Hopefully I'll be back soon!
