Baseball Mans!

So, one of Mamu's most favoritest things in the whole wide world is baseball mans. He LOVES baseball guys and the game as well. Since he was a small little baby, he's in love with balls and throwing balls. I predict he'll be my little baseball man on the basis that he loves to "throw the ball up in the air like the baseball man" and "stand like the baseball man" - which is with one leg up in the air (like the pitcher). I've already told Jason that I request a fold up chair with a canopy on it for the times I'll be sitting at the baseball field.

Anyways, we got to go to a minor league baseball game, the Kane County Cougars, when we were up with the grandparents. Oh my! Mamu had a ball (pardon the pun). Even though it didn't get over until waaaaayyy after his bedtime, he stayed up the for the whole game and only once said "Baseball man go night night." After the game, the kids got to run the bases. I had Bebe's camera with me and she ran SUPER fast, so I didn't get many pictures of her. I'm used to my super fast shutter, and forgot about having to wait on this digital camera. Ok. Ok. Enough excuses. Here are the pictures:

So that pretty much wraps up our grandparent visit - it was super duper fun! I know that we all had a good time and were sad to go home.

Grandparent Adventures Part 2

On Tuesday, we went to see Toy Story 3. It was Mamu's first time at the movies and he did great! We all enjoyed it and were glad that we got to see it all together. We also went to the model train store to see what goodies we could find for Grandpa's train! He got a very cool flat car that carries Army trucks. Mamu and Bebe helped him pick it out.

On Wednesday, we went to the park to enjoy their fabulous weather! We loved the breezes and the temps in the low 80s. If only we could pack that weather in our bags and bring it home with us!

Wednesday was also my nephew's real birthday (there was a party on Saturday to celebrate with friends and family) so we joined up with Aunt Jen and him for lunch. We went to a train themed restaurant called Choo Choo Johnny's. WOW! It was pretty cool! The trains brought you your food and everything! Mamu and Bebe (and Jas & me too) were quite impressed with the trains and the atmosphere - the food was pretty good too! My nephew even got his own ice cream delivered via train with the special Choo Choo Johnny's birthday song!

That evening, we celebrated at his house with games, dinner, and cake.
On Thursday, we went to the concert in the park. We had a yummy dinner in the park and got to hear Gina Glocksen band (she was the 9th place finalist on season 6 of American Idol for those of you who follow American Idol) and boy did Mamu enjoy dancing! We even got a good 'cousins shot' - hey we're not picky. None of them were crying in the picture, so we count it as good. the band was good to listen to, the weather was perfect, and the company was great.

Stay tuned for the rest of the week!

Our Grandparent Adventure, Part 1

So, I promised that I would get back to you about our big adventure at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. So here we go! (BTW, since we were there for 8 days, it's gonna take a coupla posts)

Bebe went up a week ahead of time (the first time away from home for that long!) and had a lot of fun. She went to the spray/splash park a lot, learned how to play Skip Bo, and it's rumored she had donuts for breakfast and waffles for dinner (yum!). There are a couple of pictures, but they're not on this computer right now (and I'm too lazy to go get them and put them on here right now) so I'll add those later.

We arrived late Friday night (read - got to their house around 11 pm). Mamu really enjoyed his flight "up in the air" and didn't sleep a wink. Even after we had our layover in Kansas City and changed him into his pajamas, gave him Ooh Ooh and his blanket. It was just too exciting!

Saturday morning we had a fundraiser poker rally in honor of my sister in law, Sam. She passed away when she was 17 and the proceeds from this fundraiser go to help a Child's Advocacy Center, since she wanted to be a counselor and help children. Mamu was thrilled to see all the 'motorcycle mans' (there were ladies there as well, but when it comes to motorcycles, it's all motorcycle mans) and Bebe was excited to get to go on the rally with Dad and Great Grandma. After the rally was over, it was time for door prizes! Mamu got to pull the tickets this year and Bebe got to help.

Saturday afternoon, we went over to Aunt Jen's and Uncle Brian's house to celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday! The kids really enjoyed playing in his playroom and having good visiting time with the family and friends.

Sunday we all recovered from a busy day and had a lot of fun running around in their backyard and playing on the deck.

Monday, we went to the water park, and I don't have a waterproof camera, so just think about fabulous fun times with water slides, lazy rivers, and a great kid's zone! I did happen to take one right before we left!

We had such a fun start to the week and I'll try to post again tomorrow the rest of the trip!
